The TJF Mission & Our Story

2015_1111_028We believe in the power of families working together toward a common goal. Our mission is to provide your entire family a place to have fun and get fit, all under one roof.

Triple Jump Fitness was created in 2012 with the vision of developing a pathway for families to “jump” from one fitness level to another based on age ranges and specific workout needs throughout their lives. The concept was different from anything we had experienced before in our extensive fitness and personal training backgrounds, and we were excited to bring our own family-centered fitness philosophy to our clients.

Our fitness expertise is three-fold: early childhood gross motor skill development & gymnastics, youth athletic performance for early teens and teenagers, and small group adult personal training. The Triple Jump experience is like nothing you’ve seen before.

No matter your stage of life or your current fitness level, Triple Jump Fitness has a solution for you.

Live fit. Be active. Feel strong.

Meet the Team

Operations Director

Kim DeMado, Co-Founder, Kids & Family Health Coach

2015_1111_002“I love working with parents and kids. I believe involving kids in fitness classes is one of the best ways to build confidence. They begin to learn listening and discipline skills that will benefit them the rest of their life. Plus it’s FUN! As a working mom, I totally get that fitting in a workout is difficult. We offer a unique experience that combines a play date and workout, helping moms and kids get fit and make friends. Are you coming to work out or are you coming to play? Why not both!”

Originally from Vermont, Kim moved to Maine and began teaching fitness in 1990.  To fill the void after completing her competitive gymnastics career, she fell head over heels for fitness classes, becoming a group fitness instructor/ director at two area health clubs.

In 2008 she became co-owner and personal trainer with her husband Tim in their business, Athlete’s Training Solutions.  More recently, she opened Tumble Tikes, a children’s fitness center to provide families and children with a foundation based healthy and staying active together. her passion is helping her clients of all ages(especially moms) learn to love their bodies, feel stronger and in the process improve every aspect of their lives.

Kim has additional expertise in triathlon training, working with numerous triathletes and is also a 2-time Ironman finisher herself. Kim is a mom of 4 children, the youngest – Jackson, who is as active in programs at TJF. She believes that maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle is the key to a happy life she lives the philosophy:

Kim’s Fitness Philosophy: Anything is possible; mind over matter; say you can do it and you will, say you can’t and you probably won’t.

Programs Director

Tim DeMado, MS, NASM , Co-Founder, Personal Trainer & Youth Performance Coach

2015_1111_021“I coach and train because one of the best ways to raise someone’s self-esteem and confidence is by putting them in a position to do something they didn’t think was possible. With the right work ethic and commitment this can be achieved physically through training. There’s a great lesson to be learned through setting goals, working towards them and ultimately succeeding in the fitness industry that transcends into all other facets of life. Many times this may include overcoming adversity in the process. You’re a great coach if you can make this dream come true for your personal training clients.”

Tim has been a personal trainer and performance coach since moving to Maine in 2004.  He received his Masters in Physical Education from Springfield College in 2001 and later became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

His training career began as a Fitness Program Manager for the Town Sports International Corporation (Boston Sports Clubs) in Boston, MA.  While there he also worked part-time as a strength and conditioning coach at Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning in Winchester, MA.  Upon moving to Maine, Tim worked his way up to become Head Trainer/Fitness Director at Bay Club in Portland.

In 2008, he started his own fitness business, Athlete’s Training Solutions, in partnership with his wife.  Throughout his training career to date, he has worked with adult clientele as well as athletes from middle school right through the professional ranks.  Most notably he has prepared two full scholarship athletes from Maine for their collegiate playing careers.

Tim’s Fitness Philosophy: Consistency is the key; there is no substitute for hard work.
